I am sure it should not come as a surprise that running after finishing my goal? Well, it is QUITE the letdown. I have tried, slowly, to get back into it, but I am just running 3-4 times a week, and my mileage is 1/3 to 1/2 of what it had been. Five weeks out, I am thinking my excuse of “letting my body heal” is probably getting a bit old.
Anyway, it has also been freakishly hot, even for Central Texas. 100 degree heat is not supposed to arrive until mid to late July! I have been trying to get up early and run before my husband leaves for work, but Little Man has also had croup and has been up and down at night. This makes it hard, sometimes, to get up an hour early. I guess I need to try harder to work it all in, but luckily for my guilty conscience, my husband has been slacking as well.
I have signed up for a beginner’s series of Ashtanga yoga, starting this Sunday. I think it should be a nice balance, but we’ll see. I also want to learn to swim well enough to swim laps, but I will save that goal for later in the summer, when it gets hotter.
